The laundry industry is inherently an efficient recycler that is more environmentally effective than smaller scale or domestic operations. Fenland Laundries’ Environmental Division is particularly concerned about the future of the environment and takes responsibility for the environmental effects of its own actions.
The Fenland Laundries Limited sites at Grantham & Louth receive, clean and despatch workwear and are committed to facing the challenges of environmental management and to preventing pollution. They are both modern and efficient plants which aim to process laundrywith a minimum of environmental damage. In order to achieve this aim our objectives are :-
To comply with relevant legislation and other environmental requirements to which the Division subscribes.
The minimisation of resource use and waste generation.
Effective liaison with internal and external interested parties.
Provision of environmental training for key staff.
Prevention of pollution.
To maintain an Environmental Management System which identifies and controls those company activities which impact upon the environment.
Continual improvement in company environmental performance through the setting of targets.
To regularly assess environmental aspects and develop programmes for the improvement of those aspects found to be significant.
All activities at the Environmental Division’s sites will comply with the requirements of BS EN ISO 14001 : 2004. This policy is fully consistent the company’s health & safety policy, quality policy and business plan.
